The 2023 Equestrian In The Park held on 25 November delivered another outstanding showcase of elite equestrian sport, transforming Burswood Park into a vibrant arena of competition, community, and celebration. With a full program of feature classes, a strong lineup of riders and horses, and enthusiastic crowds lining the parklands, EITP once again demonstrated why it holds a standout place on Western Australia’s equestrian calendar.
Adding to the excitement in 2023 was the presence of decorated Olympic rider Laura Collett from the United Kingdom, who joined EITP as the event’s invited international rider. Her participation brought a global spotlight to the event and offered riders and spectators alike the opportunity to watch one of the world’s most accomplished equestrians competing on Australian soil.
Bringing high‑level arena eventing into an accessible, city‑based setting, the event created an electric atmosphere—where seasoned competitors, emerging stars, supporters, and sponsors came together to enjoy top‑tier sport in a relaxed yet professional environment.
Riviera Horse Floats Diamond Class
The Diamond Class proved to be one of the most competitive classes of the weekend, with consistency and precision rewarded throughout the order.
Ruby Rae delivered an exceptional performance to secure both first and second place, riding Wrenegade Rock to victory and backing it up with a strong second aboard Lockharts Popty Ping. Kenya Wilson claimed third place on Sweet Scentomint, showcasing composure and finesse in a tightly contested field.
Strong rounds followed from Ivy Parsons (Minx GHP and Kingfisher Forte), Ashleigh Williams (Phoenix Quill (OTT)), and Mikayla Veron (Brooklyn Black (OTT)), reinforcing the depth and quality of combinations contesting the class.
Horseland Grand Prix Class
The Grand Prix Class highlighted the talent of both emerging and established riders, delivering impressive rounds across the board.
Teagan Christie (Jnr) claimed first place aboard Amani Phantasie, delivering a confident and controlled performance under pressure. Riley Lyall followed closely in second with GI Caramba, while Ellie Gough (Jnr) secured third place on Don J’Amee after a polished round.
International guest Laura Collett (UK) also featured prominently in the Grand Prix, finishing sixth aboard Our Congrats (OTT). Her presence elevated the standard of competition and offered invaluable inspiration to local riders watching firsthand the skill and precision of an Olympic‑level athlete.
Brajkovich Salvage Junior Class
The second Grand Prix class brought together an accomplished field of riders and horses, delivering another highlight of the weekend.
Shantelle McMahon secured the win aboard Japanoz Warning Signal (OTT), with Evie James finishing second on Joshua Brook Stuart Little and Charli Brajkovich rounding out the podium on King’s Basil Brush.
Strong performances from Hollie Brimblecombe (Bevereaux Kit Kat), Serena Smith (Pryzwin (OTT)), and Addison Moir (Hartley’s Vintage (OTT)) further showcased the competitive depth and professionalism of the event.
